Which one would you go for as far as performance?

Black Ice Extreme III:

Airplex Evo 360:

The BIX III is dual pass ($130), and the Airplex is multipass ($92). Anyone know where to get info on the Airplex?

That second one will be a lot more restrictive than the first. Both are overkil really.

I would have thought the Airplex would be less restrictive since the path looks like round tubing throughout.

-edit- It also has a nice feature... the machine-screw threaded nuts for fan mounting.

Black Ice III would be much less restrictive. Look at the space in between the fins. To a point, the larger space in between the fins, the larger the air flow, the more it cools and actually, the other BI Pro III is more effecient if you want less noise.

If you're going with a 3/8 low flow setup, then I would go with the AirPlex. If you're going for higher flow/performance, then I would go with one of the BI III.

It's interesting that you can find pix and prices but can't find a place that sells them. ;)

OK, when you say less restrictive, are you talking about water flow or air flow? I know you are talking about air flow bellevegasj, but how about thewhiteguy?

And I do have a places to buy both of them.

It is "more restrictive" because it is used with 3/8" id tubing. But a good radiator nonetheless, check the Aqua- computer thread for more info on the airplex 240 and 360.

he could get three chevette heatercores and plumb them in paralell for the same price.

/me imagines his case with heatercores dangling all over it

SWEET

The tubed radiator is much more restrictive to water flow. If you add up the volume of all the thin channels in the first radiator, it would add up to a tubing much bigger than the second radiator.

Heatercores are fat, but compact. For a long skinny one, which looks almost exactly like the ones above, you can get a snowmobile radiator, or a refridgerator condensor (if your lucky to find a small one)
