So here's my conundrum:

I'm interested in selling off my current setup and moving to something a little different. Currently I have 2 22" Hanns-G Monitors http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=n82e16824254035 hooked up to a Visiontek v1 ATi 4870 512MB card. I'm powering my rig with a 520HX Corsair PSU.

I don't really use dual screen that much, I do at work... but I mostly play games at home if I'm in front of the geek box. Not a fan of playing a video while browsing the web. I'm interested in selling off the 22's and moving to a single larger display solution:

24" Dell ST2410:

With the 1080p resolution, that would give me better looking games and larger desktop real estate. I could use even that much real estate and get done what I want on one monitor.

Then there's this beastly monitor for an insanely good price:

Asus 26" (25.5") 1920x1200

I'll be switching my video card out to an ATI 5870 Video card from XFX, they have it at the right price for $389. I'm also going to switch to the Corsair 750TX PSU.

Should I fork over the extra cash for the Asus, what is your guys experience with it? Does it compare in quality to the ubiquitous ST2410? I do a lot of gaming if I'm using my PC at home.

I'm pretty sure I can score the ST2410 through business discount via my employer, so maybe I can bump up to something larger through Dell. What do you guys recommend? Or what are your thoughts and opinions?

My opinion is that you should get the larger display as you can afford it. This more than anything else will increase the enjoyment you'll get out of your pc, be it in watching a movie or playing games. I use a 24" Acer 1920x1200 2ms monitor so I can't offer thoughts on your specific picks, but I'll disclose that I have a distaste for the 1080 resolution XD

Oh yea, i forgot to add... I'm mostly red/green colorblind, so purchasing anything higher then a TN panel really won't make a big difference to me.

And I'm with Nightbird, I'd like to get a 1920x1200 resolution if possib.e I don't watch a whole lot of movies on my PC, but that may be directly related to the 22" monitors being a little small in relation to where my bed is. But, I have a 42" LCD at the foot of my bed so it's no big deal really.

Nightbird, can you provide a link or a model number for your Acer 24" 1920x1200 monitor? I'm assuming it's going to be nearly a bill cheaper then the Asus 26".

Thanks so far.
