I have a MSI K8N Neo Platinum motherbaord and two sticks of 512 mb Kingston Hyper X pc3200/ 400 (KHX3200AK2/1G). The ram is advertised at 2-3-2-6-1 timings at 2.6 volts. When I manually set these timings in mb bios the computer will not boot. I tried to to manually set at this to hopefully improve gameplay online. When it did not work my graphics in game now freezes for a few seconds every few seconds. Since the timing was auto set before I dont know what it was. Should I increase voltage to try to get it to work at 2-3-2-6-1 or try the next lower settings. If the latter what timings should I try as I know nothing about overclocking memory?

Loosen the settings a tad, and up the voltage. If it's stable, decrease the voltage back... If you crash, you know what the problem is. That's what I'd do :p

You may get better replies if you post in the Memory section. However, have you tried letting the bios set the timings automatically to see what is the stable timings.

I did post there and got no response, and yes I let motherboard choose timings but they were no where near what kingston advertised so I thought it might be some problem with my bios. Thanks for reply. I noticed that you and I have similar systems. What are your timings? What version driver are you using for your video care?

The timings that mobo's bring memory up in are read off of the memories eprom.
Usually they are set to some sucky timings like 3 3 3 8.

I would loosen the timings to 2 3 3 6 or 8 at 1 T.
Then I would try 2 3 2 6 @ 2.7 volts.
Play around a little.
If you go near 2.8 volts start thinking about a fan to cool down your memory.

Thanks JonDoms
I will give it a try, do you think I should try 2.65 volts first and work up?
