a seemingly lame question about cable ties

Hi,

Thought I would ask before it's too late ;)

I have 2 5970's installed in a haf x case. So there are 4 power cables coming up from the psu to the 2 gpu's. Is it ok to cable tie these 4 together? Or will it possibly cause some unwanted heat/damage to the wires? I wouldn't think so but thought it would be good to know now, rather than later...

Thanks,

Well, I currently cable tie my 2 cables together from my videocard. I don't think the cables get all that hot. I believe most of the jackets on the wiring is typically rated for between 80 - 105C. Though it would be good to invest a little bit more time in investigation.

You'll be fine. Since it's just power you don't need to worry about cross talk, and assuming that your PSU manufacturer used the proper size wires for the amount of current draw there should be no excess heat. They might get warm to the touch, but should never get hot.

Feel free to tie 'em up and do your best to hide them.
