A quiet case for my dad

My dad is big into audio production and recording. He's currently using a P4 in a Sonata II case but the thing is still pretty loud.

I'm wondering what fans, PSU, and case y'all would recommend. I'd prolly go the next step and get as much sound dampening material that I could. Then when the time comes, upgrade him to a cooler chip that I can passively cool.

So, what are your suggestions, folks?

seasonic psu, yate loon fans, antec p180b case is your answer in a can.

Stock fans in the P180B are incredibly silent... especially with cool and quite switched on.

Yate Loon fans, Seasonic or Silverstone PSU that uses 120mm fan. Use either a Zalman HSF for your processor or use a passive cooler like the ninja or similar large cooler with no fan. What I have is the Zalman CNPS7000bcu using ITE smartguardian set with a threshold that only spins my fan up when it gets over 32C which is only when its starting to load up.

I usually hate to do this, but...

Great advice, this will probably help more than getting a new case. Most noise that I have noticed coming from my computer is either air turbulence (from the case fans) or case vibrations (from optical and disk drives).

I didnt think they were very silent personally, i only used the case for about a week though before shipping it out to my brother. in comparison to my fans it sounded terribly loud but I have to sleep in the same room as my rig so i try for as close to silent as possible (there is next to no audible sound from outside my house where i'm located)

Here is my solution for silencing case vibration from disk drives:

Several people have poo.poo'd the idea (the rubber bands will break... yadda, yadda). But I am usually modding something every few months, so I will notice. It's not like I put those rubber bands in there and close up my case for five years. :D
