I was looking at APC 's UPS's and wanted to purchase one for my machine since I currently just have a surge protector from Big Lots and I think I need to protect my investment and want to purchase one of these APC units. The power supply is rated at 1000W but the problem I'm seeing is I'm not sure what rating would be fine for it ? Someone choose one for me for under $150 please .

UPS's are sized based on system draw not potential output capacity of the power supply in the PC.

So without knowing that we are just going to be shooting in the dark.

Just double check and be sure you're reading the actual watts, and not VA rating.
