a question about SLI

2x GTS take up more space and consume more power than a single GTX... was that the question ?
 
3dmarks is kinda useless.. you're better off finding some benchmarks of your favorite games and looking at performance. You're never going to "play" 3dmark.
 
when testing similarly branded cards which use the same drivers, 3dmark is actually quite useful. when using 3dmark to compare completely different cards with completely different drivers the tests lose their value, yes.

oh wait... drone................ 3dmark is bad.........drone..........3dmark is bad........drone.........:rolleyes:





a single gtx appears like the better solution from my perspective.

Well its true that this testing does has some stuff going for it, not all games (or benchmarks) make full use out of SLI.

I think in real world testing they traded blows,

i can agree with you on that for sure. the above 3dmark results seem to suggest the same thing. :D

given the choice of a single card solution which performs akin to dual card solution i'd choose the single card. though sli setups do have the wow-factor for the ol windowed case at a lan party. (less so in my case :p)

Yep I'd recommend a single card over 2 any day.

What happens if your ultra can't handle a game? Buy a 2nd. If your SLI can't? Bummer :p

No, it shows that depending on the game either can be faster. Look at the other pages.

Too many people only read one set of benchmarks =\
