I have an Ubuntu Server 8.04 x86_64 system set up on my server. Now, I'm trying to use bonding so I can have both gigabit Ethernet ports working, but I don't know about the level of bonding support in current consumer-level switches. The switch I have is a D-link DGS-1008D, and its manual and web page make no mention of bonding. Would this switch support Mode 0 (Round-robin), or would I need to stick to Mode 5 (Adaptive transmit load balancing, which doesn't? require switch support)?
EDIT: Well, I basically answered my own question by accident, no, that switch isn't smart enough to do the lower-level modes. Oh well, software layer it is!
