So with a LG 29" 2560x1080 monitor, 30" 2560x1600, and either 4 20" 1600x1200 or 3 30" 2560x1600 monitors you can make a physical size and resolution matching setup. A good example:

It could also be done several other ways but size, ppi, and resolution all match very closely as in you can basically have a vertical equivalent to the classic PLP setup with the 30" monitors. So I am curious what you guys think of this sort of setup having the lower 21:9 angled heavily?

Bit of a waste unless you deal with lots of documents - are you a lawyer?

In particular a lower 29" - even angled at 60 degrees - would push up the other monitors to probably an unacceptable height unless you desk is glass (and the 29" is underneath)" or has a big hole in it to put the monitor in.

For simplicity sake you'd be better off with 3x30" below and 3x29" above. As a bonus you'll have less issues with Eyefinity/nVSurround.

If you want to save money get 4x22" 1080p above instead as they also line up perfectly with 3x30":

I was planning to build a custom stand and desk anyway to make it work. It is just some ideas I have been tossing around in my head. The setup you have has definitely been a big part of my considerations as I do a lot of programming, excel, and signal analysis such as in Altera Quartus 2. The ultra wides have a certain feel to them that I think would be fun for games or work. I am not actually sure though as I haven't had enough hands on experience with them.

The setup you have though is near perfect to me just out of budget as I just built a 5820k system. So monitors I am looking heavily at the cheaper ultra wides and 2560x1440/1600 korean monitors. I currently have a 46" Hisense 1920x1080, 28" HG281D 1920x1200, and 3 Dell 2209wa 22" 1680x1050.
