A "Perspective" on Nvidia's GameWorks

We're only certain that it implements HBAO+ and TXAA. Beyond that, we don't know.

Yes, that is all that is integrated. Both options have alternative settings... They are not forced on you. In fact neither tech is even a default option in any preset or for any GPU. You have to explicitly choose to run them manually.

Both are just adding features to the game not removing them. HBAO+ runs at the same speed on AMD and NVIDIA.

Big scandal, huh?

So we are now believing that Ubisoft is using GameWorks solely for HBAO+?
There is a lot more to Gameworks than just graphical effects...

I'm pretty sure GameWorks was used for a variety of things in WD. Technically what nvidia said is that. for WD, only HBAO+ (when selected by the user on AMD hardware) has a hard requirement on GW.

To me that seems to indicate that there can be all sorts of GW code running when playing on AMD, though a developer is by no means required to use it.

clearly, you misunderstood his statement.

thats all we KNOW. there may well be other pieces of gameworks in there we DO NOT know about.
