Out goes the 6600GT, and in comes something else:

ATi Radeon X800 PRO PCi-Express 256Mb GDDR3 -429$ FREE SHIP
(Has yellow connector? ViVO? XT Flash Mebbe...)

OR

eVGA 6800GT 256Mb GDDR3 PCI-E - 445$ + 11.50$ SHIPPING = $456.50

Is the 6800GT Really worth the Extra money? I hate green PCB's....and its green  :( And the X800 PRO is red, which makes me happy. I know the 6X00 Series has SM3.0 HDR blah blah blah, but if im REALLY strapped for cash, is the 30$ worth it...

Opinions are mandatory, but not immature ones.

The Geforce 6800GT is worth it's money. But i would probably take the ATi. Perhaps you could even get a better ATi (perhaps XP non PE) for the same money as the Geforce. SM 3.0 is not that important if you are going to update your graphic card within the next ~18 month i would say. :)

im probably going to buy a shuttle for college by april of next year, and will be keeping this VC

From the reviews I've read, it just seems like the GT is a better all-rounder. Sure there might be occasions where the Pro comes out on top, but it doesn't seem to be that frequent - sometimes it loses pretty badly to the GT. No one knows whether the extra features of the GT hardware will be used in the near future, but at least they're there should developers choose to include them in their software.

For the record I have a 6800 Ultra and I'm very happy with it....

ive always wanted an X800PRO, i tihnk ill be happy with it. Ordering it now.
