A Minor Problem

Finally, after thinking for a while, I decided to sell (tommorow) on Ebay my current videocard,
I go to circuitcity.com and look for the 6800GT. Guess What!

ITS SOLD OUT!!!!
The funny thing is that it was in stock last week

Okay- I go to Newegg.com and search for the 6800GT

Every single one is sold out- EXCEPT for the PNY 6800GT

However, something tells me not to buy that one.

So then I go to Bestbuy.com

They have the 6800GT in stock- its a BFG
I wanted an eVGA.

Now Here is my question-
Should I sell my card and go for the BFG 6800GT
(Its performance should be equal to the eVGA 6800GT, better or equal to other well performing cards also I would like, to be able to switch the BIOS on it to a 6800U ?)

OR
Should I wait and not sell my card until the circuit city has their eVGA 6800GT cards in? Then sell it and hopefully buy the eVGA 6800GT. I cannout have that I sell my current videocard and then wait for another. I use the computer
everyday.

Well, first I will say I own no GT's so I can't speak in first person....but I've been lookin into the upgrade to a GT/Ultra for the past two months and have read up alot, and basically it goes down to this.

The only thing that really differs from company to company is the heatstink/fan and the stickers on said fan. I could be wrong, but I think that's the only difference. My friend in NJ just got a PNY 6800GT for his new rig (almost the same as the rig in my sig) and he's had no problems at all. I personally don't like PNY because of Verto (old gimmick involving voodoo's and vertos), and I had a PNY card before that was uber slow, but I think it was just the chipset being slow, not PNY. As for customer service, not sure at all...

BFG has excellect customer service and warrenty (from what I've heard abroad). Only problem with a BFG is if you get the newer version, that has a copper (i think?) heatstink with 2 blue-led fans on it...they run alot warmer than the reference cooler and alot of people have had problems.

I personally myself am waiting for an eVGA card, but people have been saying the eVga cards have problems with the fan sticker coming off and getting stuck in the fan. Not exactly what I want from a $400+ card

In the end, it's your call. If you're going to overclock your card, hopefully someone with a card who has overclocked can give you some insight. Also remember if you do OC, not all card OC the same. I've read not many bad things about eVga cards (some, but not many), so I'm going to try for eVga. If you do NOT plan on overclocking, and card is good because they should all run at specs and have a warrenty incase something doesn't work correctly. I read somewhere on inquirer that all these cards (GT/Ultra) should be coming back into a much higher supply shortly, so I'm just holding out for an eVga myself, unless someone steers my completly out of their way for some horrible reason. Just go with your gut mainly....what other people say helps, but it's your dollar in the end and you end up buying/using it. To 'settle' on a purchase is NEVER a good thing....get what you want, it's your money and you earned it

One more question:

Say, I sell my current videocard and dont buy the new one just yet.

Will a 2x ATI card be a temp. solution.
I mean: Will a 2x card work in a 8x slot w/o burning up or w/e

Yah the 2x agp card should work fine in the 8x AGP slot .. i mean hell i used a TnT 2 M64 for a lil bit on waitin for my evga g6800gt
