Was having problems with my pair of 280GTXs that I'd put waterblocks on. One ran for about a week, then decided not to. The second one ran about a month, then gave up the ghost. eVGA support suggested putting the original coolers back on and trying again, but I had to go back to work, so I wasn't able to. I slapped in a pair of 9800GTs, so I didn't lose too much ground and called it a day. While at work, I decided WTF, I've been hemming and hawing about Fermi. Said F'it and ordered a pair along with waterblocks. I got them added to the loop last night for leak testing. All was well, so I plugged everything back in and fired em up this AM.

Currently ticking along at stock clocks and 45 deg C, making 26000 PPD.

Yay! (except just picked up a 6701 on SMP). If I get motivated, I'll play with the clocks some later.

Awesome purchase! Which Fermi cards did you get out of curiosity (make and model)?
 
Do you still have the GTX280s? Try baking them and see if that will revive them. If not, then RMA the cards back to EVGA and you'll probably get GTX285s as replacements.
 
Picked up a pair of eVGA 480GTX. Forgot to mention that in my post. They've both ripped through 4 units and are running 46 degC.
 
wow it's amazing what h2o does for GPUs. That's a 100c GPU on air.....

nice upgrade. don't toss those 280s. You can either try to revive them, or rma them, then keep them, or sell them.

I put the stock coolers back on and they seem to be alive. Pulled the 295s out of my folding box and put those in for a couple of WU. They each folded 5 with no problems. In retrospect I'm thinking it might have been the heavy waterblocks messing with the cards.

I'll decide what to do with them a little later.
