Aight, first I'll start by telling you what we're playin with.

Mobo - DFI LanParty NF680i LT
NB cooling - heatsink included with mobo (active)
SBcooling - heatsink included with mobo (active)
Processor - Intel C2D e6600 (week 49)
CPU heatsink - Thermalright ultra 120 extreme w/panaflo fan
VGA - EVGA 8800 GTS 640\
VGA heatsink - Thermalright HR-03 Plus

There's what I have. If anybody could point me in the right direction and give me a starting point that would be great. Or, if you want, just comment on what you think I could expect to achieve with this setup

1. Use this guide to overclock the memory to find max stable speed

2. Take the memory back to stock

3. The CD2 speed is calculated from FSB x multiplier. For example, 400 * 8 = 3.2GHz. So to overclock the CPU adjust the multiplier and FSB accordingly.

Personally I like to keep the FSB ratio between the CPU and RAM 1:1. So I would be trying to get the FSB as close as possible to the max FSB possible when overclocking the DDR2.

You may need to make small adjustments to voltages to ensure stability.

Make sure to stress test both cores under load to confirm that final overclock is fully stable.

Continually monitor your temps when overclocking and pull back if temps starting too high. You can always buy a aftermarket cooling at a later date to increase the overclock.

Finally, make sure you don't overvolt anything and cause any component damage as your warranties will be invalid.

Good luck
