a little help needed on data transfer between hdds

hey all heres the problem: i have my OS on my SATA hdd, but i have an old IDE hdd with all my data on it. the cdrom (which is IDE), is on channel 1, while i tried to put the IDE hdd on channel 0, both are in master, and i keep getting a boot sequence where it is trying to read a MAC lan address. im a little perplexed, any ideas.

the idea here is to tranfer data from IDE to SATA hdd(SATA hdd has a 2nd partition for files)
then the other hdd is going in my xbox.

make sure the bois has bootable addon devcies first, and your sata controll is seleceted,
Than should boot from the sata no problem
 
do you mean that the boot sequence is from the hdd first? i have it set cdrom, hdd(which there is no choosing between which)
 
Set the ide drive as slave on either channel and boot into windows as you normally do... should be good to go that way.
