Still really new to cisco (maybe 5 or 6 weeks experience of toying around with them)
ok i have a cisco 1700 router with a wic card(e0/0)

basically i want this to take the place of my linkshyts router

so i need nat running (i think the command is ip nat inside)

I also need to do the equivalent of DMZ on this (completely lost here) for a VPN server i finally got working

so ill plug my dsl modem into the wic card ....
how do i make it automatically grab an ip from my dsl provider?
...i was thinking ip nat outside but im unsure really.

I have the internal lan running fine on the router, the only issues are internet access and some form of dmz for the vpn server, any advice?
 
i havnt clicked the link yet...going to read in a sec...how does it get from e0/0 to the lan f0/0?
 
If you have DSL, you likely need to get your 1700 to talk PPPoE, not just DHCP, to your provider, in order to get online.
