I am building a rig. So far I have these parts

CPU: Q6600
Memory: G. Skill 4GB (2x2GB)
Mobo: Asus P5Q-E
GPU: Visiontek HD4870
HDD: 500GB Seagate SATA

My I need some help on what would be a good heatsink? Also what would be a good case and power supply? The case doesn't have to be special just big enough to hold what I got and whatnot. Between the case and the heatsink I like to keep it around $150.

Heatsink - Xigmatek S1283 or OCZ Vendetta 2.

Power supply - Corsair TX750, I believe buy.com has it the cheapest right now.

edit: Oh..and yeah..are you overclocking? If you aren't, then stick with stock. Did you mean 150 between all three components? I read your statement literally, as in 150 for case and heatsink.
 
if you plan to overclock, which i hope you do:

and i don't know anything about PSUs :/
maybe get a combo deal from newegg with a PSU? iiii dont know lol
 
yea i plan on overclocking. I can go over $150 but no more then $200. I also wanted to get a temp monitor for system. I was looking at the site xoxide.com for my case needs. Is that a good site?

Okay, I'm going to assume you meant 150 for a case, power supply, and heatsink.

If you want to stick closer to your 150 limit, then I'd check out the Antec Sonata III with the Earthwatts 500 that comes with it. That with the Xigmatek S1283 + a bolt through kit for it should be just under your budget.

I'd prefer to go with the TX750 and Xigmatek though, then buying a case using the amount left over.
 
A TX750 and Xigmatek HDT-S1283 coupled with a Coolermaster 590 or 690 should come in at a bit under $200 before extra charges. If you're okay with going up to $200, that would be my recommendation.
 
You linked the same one twice. MX-2 is good stuff though, so I'd stick with it if I were you (I'm currently using it myself).
 
Does anyone use controller panels to monitor the speeds and temperatures of the cpu, fans and such? If so again any recommendations? I would like one that is digital and does not have the knobs on it.

Sorry this will be my last time I ask for advice. You people are prolly sick of me.
