Was just browsing around a bit ago and happened upon this video showcasing the original IBM ThinkPad, the 700t, from way way back... in 1990, no less. And, it wasn't supposed to be an actual laptop/notebook either. Talk about mind=blown. :D

Mind=blown again fact: they used a solid state drive in the 700t... again, in 1990.

My how far we've come, but considering the true innovations the narrator discusses when they wanted to create that ThinkPad, it's pretty amazing just how far ahead of the curve those IBM engineers were.

Wonder where we'll be 20 years from today...
 
Quite neat to think that the first of the ThinkPad line as being a tablet pc.

Another neat fact: A lot of people think that Microsoft's first foray into tablet computing started with their Pocket PC/Windows Mobile, then later Windows XP tablet PC edition 2002. It's not. (Google translate link)
