Where do I find it online the manufacturers site always says what the recommended PSU wattage is...:confused:
 
Some reviews will give you the cards use but many simply list the total system power draw.
Google some reviews for whichever GPU you're interested in and you should find what you need.
 
tdp gives you a decent ballpark, but like speed said, you have to search reviews.
 
They overspec the PSU to cover themselves when people use no-name junk off ebay (or even branded junk from reputable retailers like that Lepa MX F1).
 
This seems to under-estimate a lot. Says an R9 290 peaks at ~200W while all sorts of reviews have measured its peak draw in excess of 350W.

Yeah, I would never trust "just one" PSU calculator tool. You never know if the numbers are right.

If you're going to let a tool do the job for you instead of doing it by-hand, you should get a second and third opinion. After all, there are tons to choose from :D
