A good Over Clock?

Hey I just overclocked a Q6600 to 3.25 Ghz and I am running at about 36-40 C idle, and 6-62 under load from Prime 95.

Is this perfect?

Should I go higher?

Should I go lower?

Thanks in advance

I'd keep it there. You could see if you can keep it stable with lower vcore (makes it run cooler) and if so, maybe try to go faster and bump the vcore up little by little.

Not a bad OC though. What are you using for cooling?

Depends entirely on whether you need your comp to run that fast or not...

If you really dont need all that extra speed then just keep it at 3.0 or even 2.4. I mean it means much lower temperatures.

If you want to see as far as you could go (can be very dangerous, be very careful) then you still have room to overclock. You shouldn't start worrying until you get above 65C, 75C for me is cutoff.

Nice temperatures though. What is your ambient temp? What is you cpu voltage? What is your pwm temp? What cooler are you using? How long did you prime95 for? What is your stepping? What is you system?

All those questions would help us evaluate whether we suggest you go higher or not.

Cooling is an AC Freezer Pro 7, 1.24 vcore voltage, Ran Prime95 for 2 hours no errors.

You're in a good place for that cooler right now. I wouldn't go any higher, but I see no reason to back it down either. The AC Freezer 7 Pro is a solid cooler, but it's firmly in the mid range... and quads run really hot. You're probably going to want something more if you intend to hit the usual 3.6Ghz air OC limit for quads.
