Can anyone point me to a good, large, quiet harddrive to be used mainly for gameing purposes.
I look thru the reviews of specific drives on newegg, and when I think I`ve narrowed it down... I see many negitive responces towards that drive.
Does the drive need to be compatible with my nForce4 chipsets? I have a Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe board already.
Do I need to go with the 8mb or 16 mb cache?
7200 or 10,000 rpm?

Did you read the Buyer's Guide sticky? Check that first!

There are many good/large/quite drives out there. How large do you want it? Anything over 150GB and you've ruled out 10k RPM.

Any SATA I, SATA II, or ATA66/100/133 drives will be compatible with your board (basically everything except SCSI)

8mb vs. 16mb isn't that big of a deal, but most newer drives are all 16mb.

I'm a fan of WD so I would reccomend either the 74 or 150GB raptor for performance or their 250/320/400GB, 16mb, SATA drives for storage. I own 2 74GB raptors, 1 150GB raptor, and their 400GB drive and I'm very happy with all of them.
 
I own a 250 gigWD SATA3G 16MB Cache drive. It doesn't...seem as fast as I thought it would be. It's pretty big and I haven't had any hiccups but I don't know. I guess I was expecting it to be faster.

Seemed like my Maxtor Diamondmax Plus 9 was faster, but it had a huge incompatibility with my board. =\
