Is there anything that beats the Microsoft Intellimouse 3.0 for around $30?
 
lol when i read your thread title i was going to recommend the intellimouse 3.0. i really cant think of anything that is going to be even close to as good for $30. the deathadder is an option but its a bit more expensive, around $45-50 if i remember correctly and it will have a very similar feel to the microsoft. thats a pretty low price point for a gaming mouse, so your options are going to be very limited.
 
I see mx518s for $30 when on sale. Those are the best for that price. Been using mine for years.
 
i'm using an mx518 too, it's really nice.

I wonder if there's anything actually worth the money to upgrade to.

well i got mine for 38 euros from england, an explorer 3.0 stills runs around 35-40 euros here in greece, razer and logitech mice range between 60-100 euros, so in my case spawn is really cheap for what it offers. ( high quality omron switches - rubber on sides - avago 3090 sensor - decent feet - onboard memory )
 
i got an mx518 on ebay for 20 bucks, works perfectly. other than that all i can recommend is the intellimouse 1.1
 
IMO one of the best gaming mice period... $40 or less: Sharkoon Fireglider. The new Rude Fierce V2 is also very cool for a very decent price. I love it.
