As far as a gaming SFF where would you begin exactly? Im not sure that much about it. But I currently have a full tower, and just think that making a nice gaming rig thats very portable would be so helpful since I plan on attending various LANparties this upcoming year. any hardware with links is appreciated, and is there anything that really you just cant fit that could fit in a normal case? I see people posting about 8800 gts's so I assume that would fit (if i were to get a 640mb... what about a gtx instead tho?)

As you say you may want a 640mb gts instead of the 320mb I listed, but I doubt a gtx will fit in a sff without modding.
You might want a faster cpu, if you're not into oc'ing. Also, you may not want/need the 4gb or ram or the 750gb hard drive, so adjust to whatever you like. The asus motherboard is nice for a sff, but the gigabyte is great too.Note the wishlist doesn't list an OS.

The biggest fitting issues people usually have is with PSU's, Video Cards and heat sinks so just make sure all those will fit in your case
 
Wish they made these cases available with a "no power supply" option. = /
