If you had a $2100 budget and you were to purchase all your componants online for a pure gaming system, what would you buy?

Commodore 64!!!!!!

Joke over, I would buy an Intel system. I have had good luck with them. But with that kind of money you can get an FX-53 system with all the trimmings.

I would say A64 FX-53, 6800 Ultra or GT, 1gig of Corsair XMS memory, 2 74Gig Raptors.

the computer in my signature cost me about $2500 when I built it a month ago, performs very nicely in all the latest games out today :D

hmmm. I would say an athlon 3800, a gig of non performance memory (unless overclocking), 6800U (then get some aftermarket cooling, and overclock the hell out of it), and a 74gig 10k drive to hold system data and games.

I've got a 2700 XP that I've had for months and months and a bfg 6800 gt. Running doom3 in 11 x 7 in ultra @ 60 fps. My vid card isn't over-clocked above the normal selling clock speed with fan cooling... for now. ;)

When do you guys think is the optimal time to purchase? im thinking XMAS like always.

I'm returning home from my deployment soon and I'll be buying a new gaming computer too. I'd like to get one sometime in late october or early november but I think I might wait for the nforce 4 board to come out.
