Hi,
I have Q6600 in test right now. I noticed Core temp is reporting "flat" temps.
here are are the vitals.
Room temp is 70°F or 21°C
Core 0 61°C
Core 1 61°C
Core 2 57°C
Core 3 57°C
This is at 100% load. Testing program is prime 95 Version 25.6 small TTFs.
Voltage is 1.29 (under load) according to CPU-Z 1.43
Overclock is 3.3GHZ (366 X 9)
.1 volt increase for MCH
.1 volt for the FSB
AS 5 TIM
Big Typhoon lapped
Rest of the specs are in my signature
I am going to guess I have good temp wise with a 4 degree spread between all 4 cores. However my question is
Did I get a good flat IHS? Graysky's article mentioned lapping the IHS for more thermal transfer plus he noticed a concaved surface. Would it be even worth pulling everything apart again to lap the IHS?
As for my love for the Q6600, I like it. Some programs seemed to be easier to load but I do not know for sure. It seems to have a good overclock properties on this one so far. Although I am no expert on the matter. I just try to learn from my mistakes.
