A few questions about NAS.

I'm looking for a quick and easy way to backup my stuff, as well as share files and from what I read NAS is a good option. But I have a few questions:

1. How easy is it for a home user to set up?

2. What NAS' would you recommend?

3. Anything I should know?

How much data, how are you backing it up, what kind of future expandability do you need?

QNAP has a very good interface and it's easy to set up.

I personally like Synology, very easy to setup at home, but really depends on what you need.

FreeNAS or openfiler are good too.

About 1TB would be sufficient. Nothing super fancy just something I can copy some files to and retrieve when needed. Would this be a good choice?
