Firstly, system specs that matter:
PSU: antec neo eco 620W
CPU: fx 4100
mobo: asrock 890fx deluxe4
gskill ddr3 1333 10666
sapphie hd 6870

Finally got my new budget gaming rig in order and I was playing with 3dmark 11 and I'd like to see what possible scores I can get. By default I'm getting slightly under 4k with my top score out of say 5 test is 4001. Thats pretty much my goal of overclocking and I don't want to do anything extreme just my cpu and maybe my gpu later on.

I also have some temp questions. After my girlfriend played skyrim for about an hour speefan is giving me the following temps and one thats concerning me.
All temps are idle after gaming so maybe a little on the hotter side.
System: 40c
CPU: 37c idle/50c while gaming (this could be a bit lower on the idle, no?)
AUX: 120c (this is the one that concerns me, it was up to 130c+ right after gaming, I don't know what AUX is but asrock gave me a fan that goes on the northbridge chip that i could install)... Just checked this while gaming and it seems it dropped down to 40c while I was playing. Odd. Then it shot back up to 126c.
GPU: 41c idle, 65-70c load(is this too hot?)

I'm wondering if I can tweak my casefans a bit and get a more optimal flow. Right now I have a one on top blowing out, one on the side blowing out and one in the back blowing in with a drive bay open in the front that seems to be sucking air in. After gaming the side fan (with red led lights) feels like a hand dryer and it seems comical to me since it's glowing red.

Any opinions on how to better cool this or if its just fine the way it is would be nice.

The only thing I've done as far as overclocking so far is I let the amd overdrive utility try to overclock it and it only got up to 3.8ghz from its stock 3.6 which seems pretty weak to me since people are saying they can get close to 4.6-8 with the stock cooler. I have an aftermarket zalman hsf for my cpu but i dont currently have the brackets so im stuck with what i have. I MAY have used too much thermal paste but not too likely as ive installed a few cpus and am aware that too much is a bad thing.

As far as OC'ing the cpu I'm aware of the basics but I havent done it in years and these fx cpus have different features.
I think I should turn off the turbo boost for the cpu before I do anything correct?
So pretty much I'm going to be bumping up the multiplier until it becomes unstable and then bumping the voltage a little? All the while keeping an eye on temps and I shouldnt go over X temp? (not sure what temps are bad with these cpus)
One more question, If I come to a decent OC is the cpu going to run at that speed alllll the time or will it throttle down as it should?

I think that about sums up my questions, I tried to search around a bit for my answers but theyre few and far betweens. Thanks for reading.

That sensor may not be connected to anything or whatever software you are using does not have a calibration file for your exact motherboard revision so it does not know how to decode the result. Remember temp sensors do not directly output results in C or F but an integer probably between 0 an 255 that needs a formula to convert this number to a temperature.
 
like drescherjm said, ignore the 120C temp, its probably just a bad/dying sensor since it is changing between 40 and 120C. you can double check it with hwmonitor if you want.

secondly, don't use overdrive to overclock your processor, use the bios if you want to overclock. other then that overclocking the FX processors is exactly like the older AMD processors. most of the extra stuff you see on there you can ignore.
