A Few Miscellaneous Issues

For the life of me, I can't figure these things out. I've spent hours searching forums, and seem to be coming up empty.

System specs:
i3-2100
Asus P8H67-M LE
4GB RAM
Win7 -- problems exist in MPC-HC, VLC, TMT5, WMP, and Media Browser w/in 7MC.
HDMI out through Denon AVR-791 (audio delay disabled) to Samsung 46" LCD via HDMI.

Problem 1: Audio sync problems. Normally, I'd just set an audio delay either on my receiver or in whatever player I'm using, but it's not consistent. Some files play where the video is ahead of the audio, others are vice versa. The files play fine on my gaming PC, leading me to believe it's something either in equipment setup or driver/software config.

Problem 2: Periodically during playback of digital files located on an internal drive (Samsung 2TB F4), the video gets SUPER choppy -- it's almost like what you'd see happen if the CPU/GPU usage jumped to 100% during playback, except it doesn't. Again, files play fine on my gaming PC. It happens from multiple HDD's in the HTPC, so again, I'm thinking software/driver somewhere.

Problem 3: TMT5 no longer functions after installing a Ceton Infinitv 4. Upon installation of the Ceton, I was getting a popping sound when changing channels. Google led me to a forum that advised unchecking an option to prevent software from taking exclusive control of the HDMI audio device. That resolved the popping issue. However, now TMT5 will not seem to launch anything. Google tells me TMT5 needs that box checked. Any ideas? Currently, when I put in a bluray, I can click to launch the disc, it starts to load, but crashes just before the warnings/trailers/etc.

I've considered purchasing a GT430 to drop in there, and would do so in a heartbeat if a dedicated GPU would fix these issues, but I'd rather not have to spend more money on it if I don't have to. The Intel 2000 should be okay for media playback, should it not? Thanks!

For the audio sync issue, I'd double check your audio/video codecs. I always use CCCP. http://www.cccp-project.net/

Check if the Intel HD 2000 video supports DXVA hardware acceleration. (should since it's fairly new) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DXVA I Had the same choppyness issue when playing 1080p videos on my XBMC box. 720p videos played fine. Replaced my Radeon X700 with a really cheap Radeon HD5450 which supported DXVA and the issue cleared up. Also may try new drivers for the Intel Video?

Just my 2 cents...

I've actually gone as far as doing a clean install of windows and installing only what I need. I've tried intel's newest drivers and a few prior. Didn't seem to fix anything.

I'm going to just take a shot in the dark and order a video card. Hopefully it clears everything up. If not, well, I guess I have a spare for troubleshooting.

6570 is on the way. Got the Corsair rebates from my last build in the mail yesterday. Those prepaid cards are so finnicky, I just buy Newegg GC's anyway. They had an MSI 6570 for $62.99, $20 MIR, and Sonic Generations (woohoo!). If it fixes even 1 issue, it'll be worth it.

Accidentally found a setting on my receiver last night when doing an Audyssey setup called "Auto Lip Sync." It was enabled by default. Disabled it and watched a couple things last night without any sync issues. I'm wondering if maybe that was it.

Still having problems with TMT5. Going to start 100% fresh with windows a second time once the 6570 arrives, and see what program/addon install goofs up that playback.

6570 showed up today, popped it in and noticed it was uh....flickering, or something. Tested another box with it and the same thing happened, so it's going to be RMA'd.

Reinstalled fresh Intel drivers, uninstalled/reinstalled TMT5, and was able to play movies. However, I'm getting a weird stutter one every 30-40 seconds or so. It's almost like it's buffering or something, and just hiccups. I've set all power management to performance, auto refresh rate switching, etc. If I can figure this out, I'll finally be good to go with my all-in-one solution ...
