A few major pc problems I've been having...

I'll just list them, that might be the easiest way to go.

1) On a cold startup, I get disk boot failure and cannot boot from hard disk. If I restart a few times, it will finally work.

2) Sometimes my Cpu usage hits 100% - Barton 2500+

3) Every once in a while my system will just restart, no matter what I'm doing.

So I had these problem and I decided to go to a local store and pick up a new HD. I get home and start installing xp and half way during installation I'm getting errors thrown at me, "Could now load Battery, Contact your system manufact" And several others - I Cannot remember now.

THEN I thought I would go get a new mobo, this time I couldn't get the pc to recognize the HD or the CD Rom.

After about 2 hours of frustration, I put my old gear back in, and it worked fine. (Untill restart)

I"m really at a loss here fellas, any help would be appreciated.

Four questions:

1-Have you load failsafe defaults in BIOS[Remember to write down visible choices 1st]

2-Have you flushed the BIOS with latest update ?

3-Have replaced the cMOS battery[3v+]

4-Have you tried another PSU ?

BIOS:
Restart versus shutdown & switch-on again.
>When restart, the BIOS skip some tests like memory.

?? How do the PC behave if you shut it down 10x times and switch it on again each time ??
