I'm all for it, and here's a reason why.
I've been in an enterprise support position for about 2.5 years. It's definitely a growing business, especially after the Sarbanes/Oxley act came into play. Here's more info on it:

We can all thank Enron and Arthur Anderson for this one. Ever since that act came into play, enterprise server/storage needs have skyrocketed. Along with that, smaller SAN/Tape Backup solutions have been introduced. Now, your IT folks working on client-based systems are getting OJT on enterprise equipment.
I have to agree with the folks saying this is in a different realm than networking. Yes, networking is involved, but it spans WAY more than that. Software like Exchange/SQL/SAP/Oracle/Server-Based OS's/etc.. to hardware such as servers, scsi/fibre storage, scsi/fibre tape backup solutions, rack equipment such as KVMs (which range from your standard kvms IP-kvms, the racks themselves, cooling/cable management, etc... Clustering, failover and hpcc, would also fall into this category, as those are more prevalent these days.
Plus, the eye candy would be insane in this forum
