I have an HP Envy 14 laptop with hybrid graphics, Intel something-r-other and AMD 5650. The drivers provided by HP are so old that some games actually don't work. The textures are like huge triangles going all over the place so things are unplayable as you don't have a valid display. AMD won't let me install other drivers; it has this checker tool that basically says "HP is in charge of that machine, we won't let you do anything." So, I got third party drivers. These ones: http://leshcatlabs.net/index.php/2012/11/catalyst-12-10-whql-unifl-for-amdintel-graphics/ This allowed me to get new drivers and everything was peachy... except now if I'm on the AMD graphics, I can't get out of sleep mode. It's a laptop, I want to be able to shut the lid for 20 minutes and open it back up and be ready to go. I like sleep mode. The BIOS doesn't give me any options at all, which is lame. So, I'm basically stuck with this driver problem. Any ideas of what to try next?
