one of my pcs is stalling at the part after bios has loaded. it freezes for a moment after it says "updating dmi ... successful" and then i get the message "a disk read error has occured. ctrl-alt-delete to restart." this keeps happening, any solutions? also some funny noises from the hdd when it pauses after the dmi part.

thanks!

What kind of funny noises? A loud clicking, like a 'wrrrrrr-click'? If so your hard drive may have hit the dirt.
