Ok first off I'm running an amd x2 3800+ on an asus A8N sli premium. I have 2 120mm thunderblades set up for intake and exhaust and a dinky 80mm on the side(intake). On the cpu I have an artic cooling freezer with the the compound it came with. Now since thats out of the way lets me get to the questions...
Ok first off I'm curious if the asus temp's are accurate? I've been googling info and I've seen mention of asus adding 4 degrees to actual temp.
Secondly I'm wondering if its usual for load and idle temps to be extremely close to each other...by say 2-3 degree C. This comes up because I'm sitting here watching my asus probe like a hawk. My idle temps seem to be about 42-43*C on the cpu and about 30-33*C on the chipset. The load temps are 46*C and 35*C. It sort of baffles me that the temp difference could be so low and the only reasoning I can come up with is that the 80mm blows right into the freezers intake OR the temp readings are faulty...
And before someone says something I am infact running 2 instances of prime95 to be sure i'm at 100% load. Anyway thanks for any answers I get and feel free to give feedback about the setup.
