Currently my 2.4c gets upto 61c according to MB5 under load (Far Cry) overclocked @ 2.7. Is that a safe temp? Second question. Should I buy a 3.0c to increase performance? Is it worth the 200 bucks to upgrade? I have a bfg 5900xt. Is that card maxed out at the 2.7 speed. Would the 3c push it much better? I mostly play games. Hell thats all I do. :p Thanks

61 is god damn f-ing hot. However I'm used to amd's If you want get an amd 64 3200 and you can usually get an oem for 200. Mine's clocked stable at 2.4

poof!

you need um' new HSF combo , plus a few case fans

I am on the stock HSF but i have 2 120mm and 1 80mm fan blowing right on my cpu. I am currently running my chip at the 1.525 voltage and my fsb is 221. Upping the voltage will increase heat right? I don't see how I could run thie 2.4c at 3+ without it melting? I am going to buy a water kit this weekend so hopefully that will help with the high temps. My mobo idles at 33 at a ambient temp of 72 degrees.

Maybe its the goofy Dracula case i have...
