A computer on...LCD TVs?

I noticed that those huge ass 60" LCD TVs have DVI inputs (like the Sony 60" SXRD). Can we simply connect a computer to these "TVs" and use it just like a computer monitor?

It would be madd to play HL2 at 1920x1080 (16:9) on those...

1920x1200 on a 60" screen would be a ridiculously low resolution.

most of the large lcd tv's don't have a resolution near that high, most are lower than that, like 1280x1024 and such.

Well the sony mentioned is a 1080p set, it's lcd rear projection though. Sometimes those are ok. 1080p sets are still pretty pricey, 720p is more common, 1280x720. I don't mind playing at 720p, my projector does 1920x1080 in 1080i. This just recently started working for my with my new video cards... I don't think the 6800GT's in SLI supported 1080i for some reason. Anyway I tried playing at the resolution for awhile but honestly I didn't like the feel of it at all.

I'd just recommend you check out what you like if you can before you drop major cash on a huge computer display. I think each ones a little different at this point and a lot of games still don't support widescreen resolutions... which is a pain in the ass.. but they're coming along.

I think that 1st generation Digital movie theaters had 1280x720 DLP projectors, and 2nd generation will support 1920x1080, so I really wouldn't call a 60" 1920x1200 screen ridiculously low resolution..

Watching full screen video is one thing, or gaming, or anything else fast paced. Doing web browsing and day to day computing tasks is quite another. I can't use 19" LCD monitors because 1280x1024 or 1024x768 looks ridiculously huge and blocky on them, I can't imagine living with a similar resolution on a 60" display for day to day computing.

Maybe if you're sitting 2 feet away from the screen.

Any normal person I know would sit at least 6 to 8 feet away from the screen meaning this resolution would look phenomenal on the big screen.
