I got a new case, it came with one case fan, and I already had on laying around.

So I set up the case, put in both case fans, and started up... temps were good, then all of a sudden they shot up.
The Overclocked (1.33 -> 1.5 athlonxp) cpu was at 51 degrees normal.
The case was at 47 degrees celsius.
Not overclocked it's down one degree in both categories.

Now, in my old case, with no case fans...
overclocked cpu 46 degrees normal and 50 while playing a game.
case temp ~41 degrees.

What do you think is going on?

I just checked and all fans appear to be working.
Could it just be that my other case was a bit too well ventilated (I had the front pastic part of case off).
Edit: I just remembered, that case was on the ground also. And that does make a difference living in a basement apartment with no carpeting.

I also noticed that my motherboad's fan is not working. Is that heat activated, or does it run constantly?

Your motherboard fan should always be on while your computer is on. That probably is the cause of your problems.

I'll be honest, that motherboard fan hasn't worked in a few weeks.. so I mean temperatures were "normal" when it didn't work...

But even so, I just bought a new heatsink...

Kingwin CPU Fan, Model KCU-7025 -OEM

And that's just not right...
Should I send it back and invest in a better one?

I'm thinking the main causes of the raise in temperature are being on my table, and because it is not as open as the other case was.
