980x uncore questions...

I got a couple of quick questions for those with a 980x. I know with the 920's you were supposed to keep the uncore voltage close to the vcore voltage; within .025v I believe. Does the same rule apply with the 980x. If your just changing the multiplier for your OC, and not changing the bclk, qpi, and uncore speed does you still need to keep both uncore voltage along with the cpu voltage close as you OC further?? Also, I believe that some reviewers said that the uncore only has to be 1.5X the ram instead of 2 like bloomfield (i.e. 1600mhz ram w/2400mhz uncore instead of 1600/3200)? Thanks in advance.

no such requirement for uncore (cpu vtt) to vcore closeness, just some core i7 9xx bloomfields clocked better with them close while others don't need for such a requirement.

Yup 980x 1.5x uncore to mem ratio is all that is needed but be aware as you lower uncore, most x58 boards auto tighten (lower value) your RTL A/B/C settings which can push up your cpu vtt and vdimm voltages requirements just like setting uncore to mem ratio to greater than >2.0+
