980ti to 2080?

[Smutacus]

So with The Division 2 coming I am feeling the need to upgrade. Stats for my rig are in my sig. I'm looking at the MSI 2080 Gaming Trio. Does the [H] mind approve?

[kasakka]

Roughly the same rig as mine. I went with the 2080 Ti but 2080 would be a pretty good upgrade over the 980 Ti. Probably almost double your framerates depending on the game.

[DooKey]

That would be a nice upgrade.

Everything else in your rig is still really good. That upgrade will give you a nice boost, especially if you keep rtx off.

Your cpu might hold a 2080 back a little from what I've read.

[adaminside]

2080 is a great upgrade over 980ti but I think you will be limited by your CPU.

[Unknown-One]

I went from a 980 Ti to a 2070, and that was already a nice upgrade. I don't think you'll be disappointed with a 2080.
