I'm currently running two 980 GTX's in SLI and the Rog Swift 27" 144hz monitor. My question is whether or not you should run Gsync 24/7, or if it's selective use? For instance in Battlefield 4 with Gsync on my frames are steady around 140-150. If i turn Gsync off it's typically higher, around 160-200 fps. I assume having Gsync enabled is always a benefit, but does it even matter if you're getting that high of a frame rate already? Just curious, couldn't find any info online.

G-Sync is not designed to increase your frame rate, it's designed to sync up monitor refreshes with your GPU to make it smoother, because of this it's always advantageous regardless of frame rate (unless you're running a benchmark).

I think G-Sync limits your framerate to your monitor's refresh rate, but that doesn't matter. Why doesn't it matter? You're not going to see any benefit from a frame rate over your monitor's refresh rate (144) so it doesn't matter if your FPS is higher than that, you'll never see it. The monitor is incapable of displaying it.

Yeah, just leave G-Sync on.

If you are already getting 144+ fps, then you won't see much of a difference.

But if there are intense scenes in the game (where performance drops) it will help.

Sweet monitor m8.

If anything, having a capped/synced framerate means that your video card won't have to work harder for frames your monitor won't display anyway and thus usage + stress will be lower.

I run everything with Vsync because tearing is significantly more noticeable than input lag for me. If I had your choice I would run the shit out of it.

So, yes, run it all the time. :D
