Ok, so I have a 9800xt in my WC'ed rig right now. It's obviously on an AGP board, but I was thinking about buying one of those nifty GTO2 AGP's and just moving my 9800XT to my other machine (and killing my old fx5200, yay!). So, I have this waterblock on the 9800XT:

It says that that block is compatible with with x8xx series of cards, so it should work on the gto, right? And also, I have ramsinks on my 9800XT that I would need to remove to put the stock air cooling back on. How easy is it to damage the memory in removing ramsinks? Any procedure I should follow? I just have the ramsinks on the top of the card, I left the copper heatspreader on the bottom, so it would only be 4 ramsinks as opposed to 8. Any suggestions?

What did you use to stick on the ramsinks? If you used AS Epoxy, I'd reccommend not pulling them off. But, if you decide you do, shove the card in the freezer for about half an hour (no joke) and then try and remove as gently as possible.
And yes, your any waterblock compatible with the 9800XT will be compatible with an X800 of any type as long as their isnt anything like clearance issues. And there shouldn't be.

The ramsinks I used were included with the waterblock, they had an adhesive type thermal pad on them, just says 3m on it, I dunno. It's been a while since I messed with them. All I can read off of the other 4 is 3M VHB.

Ah, that's good. It's just some tape then. You should be able to extremely gently remove them just by twisting and pulling at the same time. Gentle, I say! This is not the girl you took home from the formal!! :p
