It would appear that the fan on the 9800xt has stopped running. All connections are secure. I cant figure it out, any suggestions?

or get an aftermarket cooler for it :p
 
I was afraid of that. I was just hoping to find out if it was just something simple/widespread or not
 
RMA it, hehe and if they stopped making them 9800xt's they would send you a x800XT heheheh
 
They will send you something like that if they no longer made the 9800xt anymore...
 
but worst comes to worst.. you get a x800se, which kills the 9800xt i believe because of the same 8 pipes and alot higher clock speeds
 
You'll likely get a 9800XT, new or refurb, before anything else. Aftermarket cooler is a good idea IMO.
 
For any of you that were curious i rma-ed my card and got what appears to be a new 9800XT back. Unfortunately the metal piece that you put the screw thru to mount the card to the case is bent in but ill just bend that back instead of spending another 10 bucks and another week without a computer. thanks for the posts
