9800xt or 6600gt

I currently have a 9800XT and am considering migrating to 6600GT w/VIVO. Now my questions are as follows
1. Performance difference from the 9800 to 6600 > < =
2. With the VIVO would I be able to watch my SAT TV on my Monitor.
 
performence diffrence is minimal .. its like upgrading 9800xt(referring to 6600gt) from a 9800pro(referring to 9800xt)!

thereforce you might as well save up some money and get a 6800gt.
 
Cool that answers part one of my question now how aboot part 2, as I have no familiarity with VIVO and how it would work for this type of application.
 
I have a Saphire 9800 256mb that I bios flashed to a 9800xt. I put on an Alpha PEP 66 and took up 3 slots (I didn't need them). But the card is right at it's max overclock at default 9800xt speeds. Early last year it was the shitzen. I just built a new box this weekend and have an SLI mb and 2 6600gt's, but still only have 1 6600gt on the board until I get the drivers and software all loaded. I took a couple of minutes and loaded HL2 and I'll tell you, with no tweaks, the single 6600gt is waay faster with this game. It's faster at 1240 than the 9800xt is at 1024. Even the HardOCP article shows what I am saying.
Don't know what SLI will bring me, yet. The funny thing is I am using comparable ram in both boxes, the 9800xt box has an (754) AMD 64 3400+ stock and the 6600gt is (939) 3200+ winny stock.
Anyway, I love my 9800 (psuedo xt), but I think that FOR THE MONEY, the 6600gt is a viable upgrade. Remember that a 9800xt was over 300.00 just 6 months ago, and still barking at the 300.00 mark. This is assuming you aren't making a major upgrade to a totally new system. If you are, and can afford it (or, in my case, justify it), go for the 6800 gt/ultra.
 
Your best bet is probably just buying a pure tuner/vid-cap card and saving your pennies to get a 6800/x800. It'd be hard for me to justify $200 for a 6600 when I had a 9800.

Besides, your last card was the top of the line, you next one should be, too.

True, true I do see your point and money is not completey an issue. I'm just trying to justify going big, it did take me untill Doom3 to get the 9800XT. It does run well but not like I would really like it to. I am kind of accustomed to at least 60fps if not 75fps. Decision, decisions.
