I've had my 9800xt for awhile now and recently the fan died so I decided to buy a Zalman Fatal1ty FS-V7 for my card. I got it installed and it's running cooler now but every now and then I get red or purple lines running up and down my screen.
I was wondering if I could have put too much thermal paste (Arctic Silver 5) or maybe screwed it on too tight?
Once the color problems show up again i'll be sure to take a screeenshot.

Thanks!

make sure you havent screwed one of the screws too hard so the HS is 'tilting' and not pressed evenly over the whole core.
and iirc the silver get better heat transfer after some time (read it here on the forum somewhere) so try do some benching ;)

Make sure you disn't apply to much AS5, it is conductive! Don't let it come in contact with the littel bumbs around the core of your card.

Your VF700 probably isn't on correctly, take it out and check to make sure. It has to be on flat or else part of the core won't be getting any cooling.
