I recently bought the Asus 9800xt and it was up and running with the drivers that came with it, until I decided to try out the omega drivers. I uninstalled all of the stuff related to the video card so that I could install the omegas. After a reboot, I kept getting windows asking me to install drivers for "Unknown" device. I decided to go back to the Asus drivers, so I uninstalled about 4 things from the add/remove programs that had to do with the Omega drivers. Installed everything from Asus again, and now every time my computer boots I get about 3 err. msg. relating to SmartDoctor 1st one from SmartDoctor stating "The Service Database is Locked". 2nd one stating "Can't Start Kernel Mode Driver Service". And finally "SmartDoctor : Loading Kernel DLL(EIO.dll) fails! Program aborts." When I load up SmartDoctor, the program seems to run just fine. I don't get it, how do I "fix" this so that I don't recieve these error messeges anymore?

Try running Driver cleaner as an intermediate step when you are swapping back and forth like that.

Hope this helps
