Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I'm building my first gaming rig and I was at Pricewatch and saw that they had a 9800se for $115. And i was wondering why it was so much cheaper then the other 9800's and is it worth getting because otherwise I'm getting a 9700.
You definately don't want a 9800se. It's basically a 9800pro that has 4 pipelines disabled. There is *SOME* chance that they can be enabled again in which case you'd have a good card for cheap. But most of them don't unlock without checkerboarding and artifacts.
Just for comparison, the 9800se is about on par with the performance of a 9600np/p. The 9600xt is faster, and can o/c a LOT higher to boot. But the o/c'd 9600xt is still not going to beat a 9700pro (it may come close, but at the higher resolutions the 8 pipes on the 9700 will pull it ahead)
9800se isn't cheap compare to 9600pro or 9600xt. 9800se is slower unless u mod it. so its only worth buyin the card if you plan to mod it.
if new 9800se has r360core with good success rate to 9800pro is would be worth it.
