9800SE@Pro or 5900XT@5950?

unless your game and no the risks of the 9800SE mod I>E artifacting and if it dont work your stuck with something that struggles to beat a 9600Pro then i would go the 5900XT@5950 ;)

The answer to the second question is pretty much no and no at the moment.They seem to have learn from there past mistakes and have made these new cards almost imposable to mod :eek:
 
You could mod some of the very first X800 pro's, but that seems to have been "fixed" by ATI now.
 
For the first question, the nVidia card without a doubt- but that's assuming you wont be able to succeed in making the 9800 a 256bit card.
 
some 9800ses come as 256bit. However, even though I <3 ATI, i would go 5900XT in your situation, because youre not anywhere near garunteed that it will mod.
