Is is worth the upgrade from 9800Pro AGP to the x1600Pro AGP? At the x1600Pro versus the cost of ugrading the motherboard, etc. is a big difference.

not really, it would be more cost effective to wait and get a new mobo and CPU and video card. the 9800Pro and the X1600XT are close enough to each other in benches.

I might have missed it...but I'm pretty sure there isn't a x1600pro in agp format.

you will get better perforamnce in OpenGl, AVIVO, sms3.0. I don't know how much it cost s right now, but I would say either get a 6600gt/gs and then upgrade to a [H]ard dx10 videocard at the end of the year. Or if you are happy with your current etup wait for dx10. If the card is over $300 it is NOT worth it. You would be much better off getting a x800xl (I have that card now). It runs beutifly in most games I play, though I cna only play COD2 at 1024x768 max settings without lag (dx9 that is). In other words get a x800xl or 6800gt/gs if the x1600 is over $300.

yeah sapphire does have an AGP version out, was quite stuprised when i saw it..

OEM is a few dollars less.

not sure its worth the upgrade though.
As I said it will give you some nice features, and it should boost performance, $130 ain't that much, you will have a very nice looking iq, but performance wise it is not much better than 6600gt. If you need a card now buy it and maybe upgrade when dx10 is out.
