9800Pro upgrade?

I can get my hands on a $260 Sapphire 9800Pro 128mb (256bit memory).
Would it make a big difference over my current 9500pro in games like Half Life2?
Or is this not the time to buy a 9800Pro, and I should wait for a 6600GT AGP?

I hope that is Canadian $, I paid $210 US for a Saphire 9800Pro 5 months ago.

Now waiting for next gen Ati cards to some out so I can pick up a x800xt for about the same amount, roughly feb-march 05 I figure.

Going to a 9800Pro doesn't justify the cost. Make a bigger jump and you'll be happier.

the 9800 pro with 256 MB is a waist.
the only 9800 worth buying is the HIS 9800 pro excalbur, 230 at newegg.

the next best value card right now seems to be the 6800 vanilla, 300 at newegg
Gigabyte seems to have a cool one

the 6600 GT is supposed to be good, but its on par with the 9800 pro (and has the same price) but it is a bit better optimised.

so unless you want to dish out over $400, 6800 vanilla will run all the games (or almost all the games) out there today at ultra high settings and 1200x1000 with a good fps rate

U would be much better off w/ a 6600 GT AGP... its faster than any 9800 line card.

Doesn't the 6600GT perform on par with or even a bit better than a 6800nu stock?
