I have an old aluminum heatsink I think I had it on a p133.. or maybe a k6-2, anyways it's just a 2x2x1 heatsink. I'm going to cut it and use it as ramsinks for my 9800pro, would this type of heatsink be acceptable? Also what could I use to put it on the ram chips? Would a mix of liquid nails and thermal compound be ok?

The ramsinks sound great. If you have some extra cash, get some arctic silver adhesive. If not, try silver thermal compound and a small amount of superglue. Superglue and white (silicone) thermal paste do not mix well. The glue dries on contact with the white stuff. My southbridge has a heatsink attached with AS + bondini superglue and it and it seems work pretty good.

If you do the super glue and thermal compound way, amke sure that you put the thermal in the middle and just a bit (wee bit) of superglue at the very corners, only. Just enough to hold the ramsinks. Do not mix the 2 together.
