Ok, I just bought the card used from someone that flashed the BIOS and put a VGA silencer 3 on it. In benchmarks I get better scores than he did which is odd since he has an Athlon 64 system. My problem is that most games are almost unplayable. In a Doom 3 timedemo I get 45 FPS @ 1024x768 with the default detail settings and in Need For Speed Underground I get an average of 45 FPS @ 1024x768 and the detail slider in the second position.
Leadtek WinFast K7CR18D Pro
Athlon XP T-Bred B 2000+ @ 2.2GHz
500W PSU
Zalman CNPS 7000Cu HSF
2x512MB PC3200 @ PC2700 speeds
80GB Western Digital SE
120GB Seagate
Sapphire 128MB R260 core 9800Pro flashed with the 9800XT BIOS
Windows XP SP2
DirectX 9.0C
ATI Catalyst 4.11
AGP Fast Writes off
AGP 8x
64MB AGP Aperture Size
Video BIOS Cache off
Init Display on AGP
and I have no option to assing an IRQ to VGA.
it has been suggested that the problem is due to my motherboard. does this seem logical to anyone? i am going to try the card in my dad's computer tomorrow and see if that fixes the problem.
